Chick-fil-A Foundation’s 2015 True Inspiration Award

We are so honored to be one of the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s 2015 True Inspiration Award Winners.  25 organizations were nominated by Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators and community foundations from across the nation for their support of youth and giving back to their communities. Elijah House Academy was nominated in the Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator Choice category for our work in providing accessible education that cultivates the hearts, minds and bodies of the city’s children.  We were presented with our True Inspiration Award Friday, September 4th in Atlanta, Georgia at the fabulous Fox Theatre. 

Style Weekly’s 2015 Top 40 Under 40 award 

Jesse and Elizabeth Kell were awarded Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40 award in 2015, recognizing the Academy’s lasting and positive impact on Richmond.

“School as a Market Place” Economics Program

Elijah House Academy began an economics program in the fall of 1995 under the direction of Donna Broughton receiving local and state honors from the Virginia Council on Economic Education, as well as national honors from the National Federation of Independent Businesses. This program is designed to promote an understanding of the free enterprise system, acquisition of basic living skills, and development of entrepreneurial aspirations.

2006 Richmond History Makers

Elijah House Academy was honored by the Valentine Richmond History Center as the winning school for the 2006 Richmond History Makers in the category of “Creating Quality Educational Opportunities” for the Richmond Metro Area.
